10 Ulcer Medications that Quickly Relieve Stomach Pain

These are the characteristics of healthy ears

The characteristics of healthy ears are indicated by the following signs:

1. The sound is clear

The first characteristic of healthy ears is that sounds can be heard clearly. This clear hearing indicates that the ears are not experiencing any problems, such as no ringing sensation or blocked hearing.

2. No pain

The ear is divided into three parts, namely the outer, middle and inner ear. Well, the ears are said to be in healthy condition if these three parts do not experience pain.

Please note that ear pain can occur in any part of the ear. The appearance of this pain is a sign that the ear is experiencing problems, such as an infection or earwax blockage. Apart from that, painful ears can also be a sign that the body is experiencing allergies, sinusitis, or a cold.

3. There is no fluid coming out of the ear

The next characteristic of healthy ears is that there is no fluid coming out of the ears. Discharge from the ear can be a sign that the ear has an infection. Abnormal fluid that comes out of the ear generally has an unpleasant or even foul odor.

In the medical world, discharge from the ear is called otorrhea. Apart from discharge from the ear, otorrhea is also accompanied by other symptoms, such as itchy ears, pain, a buzzing sensation, fever, and impaired hearing.

This condition can occur due to many causes, namely ear infections, ruptured eardrums, foreign objects stuck in the ear, and even cancer in the ear canal.

Apart from indicating certain medical conditions, fluid coming out of the ear can also be liquid earwax (cerumen) or water that enters the ear when swimming. However, generally liquids like this do not have a bad smell.

4. No ringing

To be able to hear sounds well, the outer ear will pick up sound vibrations and send them to the ear canal. Next, the middle ear will transmit sound vibrations to the inner ear through the small bones in the ear.

Sound vibrations that enter the inner ear will be converted into sound signals and sent to the brain. So, these signals will help you hear sounds and maintain body balance.

Unfortunately, hearing function can decrease. This is characterized by sounds that sound unclear and ringing sounds. In the medical world, the appearance of a ringing sound in the ears is called tinnitus.

The cause of this condition is not known for certain. However, tinnitus is closely related to hearing loud sounds too often, using certain medications taken in high doses, ear infections, or earwax that is clogged.

5. Not excessively itchy

The next characteristic of healthy ears is that the ears do not feel excessively itchy. You see, itchy ears is a sign that your ears are not okay, you know. This condition can be caused by many things, ranging from wax buildup, food allergies, dry skin, using unhygienic hearing aids for a long time, to infection.

6. Earwax is pale yellow to dark brown

The ears produce a natural substance called cerumen or earwax. Even though it is called dirt, cerumen has the function of protecting the ears from dust and dirt, preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi, keeping the ears moist so they don't dry out, and cleaning the ears naturally.

Healthy earwax is pale yellow if it has just been produced and dark brown if it has been sitting in the ear for a long time. Changes in the color of earwax can be a sign of ear health problems.

Green cerumen indicates an ear infection, black cerumen is a sign of earwax blockage, while brown cerumen with a red line indicates an injury in the ear. If you experience this, immediately consult a doctor.
