6 Healthy and Delicious Snacks Outside the Home

As a way to deal with a sore right hand, you can do a few simple things at home.

Effective Ways to Treat Sore Right Hands

The following is an effective way to deal with a sore right hand:

1. Rest your arms

If your right hand feels sore due to repetitive activities and after lifting heavy weights, rest is the most appropriate way to deal with it. You can rest your right hand for 15 minutes then stretch. This is done so that blood flow to the hands returns to stability.

2. Do a light massage

Giving a light massage can treat sore hands. Massage can be done during breaks at work or at home.

To do this, you can gently massage under the thumb or above the crease of the elbow on the right hand. Remember, do the massage slowly so as not to cause a pinched nerve.

Apart from treating sore hands, light massage can also treat headaches, relieve anxiety, improve sleep quality, and increase hand grip strength.

3. Compress your hands with a warm cloth

Compressing your hands with a warm cloth for 20 minutes can also be a way to treat sore hands on the right side. This is because a warm cloth compress widens the blood vessels so that blood circulation becomes smoother. Apart from that, compressing with a warm cloth can have a relaxing effect on the muscles and joints of sore hands.

4. Compress your hands with a cold cloth

Apart from using a warm cloth compress, you can also compress your sore hands with a cold cloth. This is because the cold cloth is able to overcome inflammation and swelling which causes the hands to feel sore and painful.

You simply apply a cloth soaked in cold water to your sore hand for 15⎼20 minutes, every 2 hours. If you have compressed your hands with a warm cloth, it is best to compress the cold cloth 30 minutes later.

5. Use capsaicin cream

The burning sensation in capsaicin cream can temporarily stop the process of sending pain signals from the nerves to the brain. Therefore, this cream, which you can buy at the nearest shop or pharmacy, can be one way to deal with sore hands on the right side.

However, using capsaicin cream can cause allergies, such as itchy and red skin. Before you use it to treat sore hands, first apply a little capsaicin cream to your elbow to see whether an allergic reaction appears or not.

Apart from that, you need to remember that the use of capsaicin cream should not get on skin that has open wounds.

6. Wear compression gloves

Compression gloves work by lightly pressing the blood vessels in the hands so that blood circulation increases. With increased blood circulation, the soreness in the hands can gradually disappear.

You can wear compression gloves during the day or at night. Avoid wearing these gloves for 24 hours without stopping and don't wear gloves that are too tight.

7. Consume fish oil

A study says that fish oil can treat sore hands due to joint inflammation. This is because fish oil contains omega-3 which can help lubricate joints. However, the benefits of fish oil still need further research.

However, you can still consume fish oil to meet your body's daily needs for this nutrient. Apart from taking supplements, you can also consume milkfish, catfish and tuna which contain omega-3.

8. Consumption of herbal medicine

The right hand feels sore and can also be treated by drinking turmeric tamarind or ginger tea. This is because turmeric and ginger have anti-inflammatory properties which can overcome soreness and pain in the hands due to inflammation.

9. Take pain relievers

You can also take paracetamol or ibuprofen to treat the pain that appears. These drugs work by stopping pain signals sent from the nerves to the brain. Even though they are sold freely, these medicines must be used according to the instructions for use on the packaging.
