Know How To Clean The Right Make Up Brush

Are you one of those people who use make up every day? If so, means you need to clean your make up tools, including brushes or sponges, regularly so as not to experience skin problems due to the use of dirty make up equipment.

Basically, all make up equipment that directly touches the facial skin, such as brushes, sponges, or beauty blenders, must be cleaned regularly. Experts recommend cleaning make up equipment every 7–10 days.

Know How To Clean The Right Make Up Brush

If not cleaned regularly, makeup up equipment can store various impurities, such as make up residue, dead skin cells, and dust. If used on facial skin, dirty make up equipment can increase the risk of various skin problems, such as acne.

How to Clean a Brush Make Up

To avoid the risk of skin problems due to using a dirty make up brush, you need to know the right way to clean it. Below are some brush cleaning steps that you can try:

1. Collect brushes to be cleaned

Before cleaning it, the first thing you need to do, of course, is collect all the make up brushes that will be cleaned. Don't forget to also include a make up brush that has never been used, because even though it has never been used, it does not mean that the make up brush is clean of various impurities.

2. Prepare warm water

The next step that needs to be done to clean the make up brush is to prepare lukewarm water. Then, put the warm water into a small container or basin.

3. Add mild soap

After the water is added, continue to add about 1 tablespoon of a gentle cleanser, such as facial cleanser or baby shampoo. Remember, avoid using body soap, hand soap, or dish soap. This is because harsh soaps can damage the bristles of make up brushes.

4. Gently wash the brush

If the soap has been added, start washing the brush by dipping the brush bristles into the container filled with water. After that, rub the brush bristles gently on the palm of your hand or a special brush cleaning pad. It aims to remove dirt trapped in the make up brush.

5. Rinse with running water

After washing, rinse the brush under running water until all the foam and dirt is completely removed from the bristles. You can confirm this by looking at the clarity of the water used to rinse the brush. If the water flowing through the brush is clear, it means that the make up brush can be said to be clean of soap and dirt.

6. Dry the brush

When the make up brush is completely clean, wring out excess water from the bristles using a tissue or dry towel. Then, place the brush on a table lined with a towel and let the brush head hang over the edge of the table. After that, let it sit until the bristles dry by themselves.

On the other hand, as much as possible avoid drying brushes with a hair dryer or by placing them vertically in a container. This is because these things have the potential to damage the brush bristles and the glue that holds the brush head to the handle.

Well, those are the steps for cleaning make up brushes that you can follow from now on. With the above method, it is hoped that you can avoid the risk of skin problems due to the use of unclean make up equipment.

If you still have questions or are experiencing skin problems due to the use of certain make up equipment or products, don't hesitate to consult a doctor immediately.
