1. Ensuring family members have received the COVID-19 vaccine

Vaccination is an effective step to reduce your risk of being infected with the Corona virus and experiencing severe symptoms of COVID-19, including due to the Omicron variant.

You and your family are advised to complete 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine so that the body gets optimal protection against Corona virus infection.

2. Implementing health protocols

An equally important thing to do to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to implement health protocols.

According to the recommendation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, take precautions with 5M , namely wearing a mask when leaving the house or being sick, washing hands with soap and running water, reducing mobility or traveling, avoiding crowds, and maintaining physical distance from other people.

If conditions do not allow washing hands properly. soap and water, you can use a hand sanitizer with an alcohol content of at least 60% to keep your hands clean from germs, including the Corona virus.

3. Monitor the health of family members regularly

To find out if you and your family have been exposed to COVID-19, including the Omicron variant of COVID-19, monitor your health regularly. Observe if anyone has symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, weakness, or cough.

You can also use a thermometer, either a mercury or digital thermometer, to get a more accurate body temperature.

4. Keep a distance from sick family members

Keep a distance from people at home who are sick, especially coughs, colds or infections, at least 1 meter.

If there are family members who suffer from COVID-19 and self-isolate at home, make sure the sufferer is always in a separate room from other healthy family members. In addition, the patient should be in a bedroom that has its own bathroom.

However, if the person who is tested positive for COVID-19 is a nursing mother, breastfeeding is still allowed, as long as it applies the right method and uses mask.

5. Using disinfectant regularly

Clean the rooms and objects in the house with disinfectant regularly. You can choose a disinfectant product, either in the form of a spray or an antiseptic liquid, which can be used on soft and hard surfaces, such as floors, doorknobs, tables, sofas, to toilet seats.

In addition to items in the house, You can also use disinfectant to clean items that come from outside the home, such as shoes, bags, jackets, mobile phones, or even your grocery packages.

Cleaning the house needs to be done regularly and if necessary every day. Involve other family members to help, unless they are sick. This is because the cleanliness of the house is the responsibility of all residents.
