In the early period of life, various problems can arise when a child has growth disorders. Not only does it have an impact on a child's brain, physical and mental development, failure to thrive can also cause the immune system to weaken, making the child vulnerable to illness or infection.

Treatment of failure to thrive in children may vary, depending on the cause, the severity of the condition, environmental conditions, and the child's overall health.

If a child's failure to thrive is caused by a certain health condition, the doctor will usually treat the causative factor first.

In addition, to increase nutritional intake for children who fail to thrive, doctors can also improve children's eating patterns. Provision of additional supplementary intake is also usually required so that the child's nutritional intake can be fulfilled and the rate of growth and development can be caught.

If necessary, your little one is indicated to be malnourished according to a doctor's diagnosis, you can provide an energy-dense formula for nutritional support for your little one, such as oral nutritional supplements (SNO). This supplement is able to increase children's weight, especially those who are at risk of failure to thrive or experience malnutrition for children aged over 1 year.

However, keep in mind that giving any supplements to support a child's nutrition and immunity must be in accordance with the doctor's diagnosis and recommendations. The reason is, the use of inappropriate supplements in children actually risks causing health problems.
