When pregnant, the sense of smell often becomes very sensitive to certain odors, such as perfume, air freshener, or the smell of foods that are quite sharp, such as durian and seafood. Therefore, avoid anything that has a strong smell, including food.

2. Eat more often in smaller portions

Pregnant women are encouraged to eat small portions, but often and avoid eating large portions at once. This method can help pregnant women to reduce nausea that occurs due to morning sickness.

3. Consume ginger

Several studies have shown that ginger consumption is effective for relieving nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Even so, if you want to consume ginger to treat morning sickness, pregnant women should consult a doctor first.

4. Take supplements as recommended by your doctor

Doctors may prescribe supplements to reduce nausea. If the complaint persists and shows signs of dehydration or malnutrition, immediately consult a doctor or the nearest hospital for further treatment.

5. Drink enough mineral water

One of the dangerous conditions caused by morning sickness is lack of fluids (dehydration) in pregnant women. Dehydration during pregnancy can cause complications in the form of defects and neurological disorders in the fetus, as well as premature babies.

Therefore, pregnant women need to meet their fluid needs by drinking at least 8 glasses of mineral water or the equivalent of 2.1 liters of water every day. Regular consumption of mineral water can reduce the risk of dehydration.
