Conditions that require eye drops and how to choose them
Humans have five physical senses that have their respective functions, namely sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. However, there is one additional sense, namely the sixth sense which is often called unexplainable with common sense.
Some people have abilities such as reading other people's minds, knowing events or things that other people don't know, sensing that something isn't right, or seeing the future. This ability is often referred to as the sixth sense.
According to KBBI, the sixth sense can be interpreted as a tool to feel something instinctively (intuitively). In psychology, the sixth sense or intuition is also known as extrasensory perception (ESP) or additional sense, namely the ability to receive information that is not obtained through the (five) physical senses but is felt with the mind. The sixth sense has almost always been associated with mystical things. But apparently, the sixth sense can be explained by logic and scientific evidence.
Understanding the Sixth Sense Logically
Here's how to logically and scientifically describe the sixth sense in human physical organs, namely:
- Brain abilities
Until now, many researchers are interested in uncovering the phenomenon of sixth sense. There are even studies showing that the sixth sense is related to our brain. There is a part of the brain called the anterior cingulated cortex (ACC) which is thought to be able to monitor or sense small changes in the environment, even if we are not aware of it. These changes are then used as a basis for adjusting our behavior.
The ACC, which is located at the front of the brain, is thought to sense danger. As a result, ACC is able to provide early warnings that help us escape from unpleasant situations. In addition, ACC activity also increases if we are found to have made a mistake or are about to make a decision. ACC seems to give an early warning so that we are more careful and do not take wrong steps.
- Genetic factors
Some people are born with a sixth sense. This is thought to be due to a gene mutation that makes a person's function in one particular part of the brain stronger. This sixth sense phenomenon is also often associated with savant syndrome. Savant phenomena occur when a person with below-normal intelligence or someone with physical or mental disabilities, has special talents or special abilities in certain fields. Savant syndrome is often associated with autism and brain damage, but not everyone with savant syndrome has brain problems.
- Sensitivity of mind
A researcher says that humans can perceive and use visual information without having to see it. Humans have the sensitivity of the mind and the ability to detect different things that can lead to feeling changes in an event. If we are able to feel an event will happen, this is because the human mind is quite sensitive. However, this opinion still needs further research.
- Memory
If you dream that your friend Person A has an accident and a few days later it actually happens, it doesn't mean you can see the future. This could be due to selective thinking where you always or often think of A, call him, and talk to him. Actually the person in your dream can be anyone, but because A is familiar with your mind, then Person A appears in the dream. Another explanation is that it was an accident and the time the dream appeared was just a coincidence.
Many scientists are trying to reveal the mystery behind the sixth sense so that it can be explained with common sense and logic. There are researchers who finally believe that a sixth sense does exist, but many also doubt its existence. Medically, the phenomenon of the sixth sense cannot be concluded with certainty. The explanation regarding the sixth sense of medical glasses above is only based on small-scale research that still requires further clinical trials.
