1. Using dental floss

Dental floss can be used to clean leftover food stuck between the teeth and prevent plaque from forming which can cause cavities. Cleaning between your teeth with dental floss (dental flossing) you can do after brushing your teeth.

2. Stop smoking habit

Smoking can cause a number of problems with teeth and mouth, such as bad breath, discoloration of teeth, buildup of plaque and tartar, and the appearance of white spots in the mouth due to irritation (leukoplakia). In addition, smoking can also increase the risk of oral cancer.

Therefore, you are advised not to smoke in order to avoid various problems in the teeth and mouth, as well as to avoid disease in general.

3. Using toothpaste with the content of

bacteria in the mouth will excrete acidic substances to process carbohydrates from the food you consume. These acids can erode minerals in the enamel or outer layer of teeth. This can eventually cause cavities.

To help prevent cavities and strengthen the enamel, use toothpaste containing fluoride when brushing your teeth.

4. Using mouthwash or mouthwash <

As mentioned earlier, maintaining oral health is not enough just to brush your teeth and use dental floss. You also need to use mouthwash or mouthwash. To maintain oral health, you can use mouthwash containing thymol, methyl salicylate, menthol, and eucalyptol. These substances are usually found in mouthwash containing extracts of green tea, mint leaves, siwak, and thyme leaves.

These ingredients are known to have efficacy (more effective) cleaning teeth and mouth from plaque and food debris, and also inhibiting the growth of germs in the mouth. Not only that, the use of mouthwash also makes the breath more fresh for approximately 12 hours.

In addition to doing some of the above, you can also maintain oral health by doing the following tips:

  • Change the toothbrush at least 3 months or when the toothbrush bristles are damaged.
  • Limit consumption of sweet foods and drinks, such as candy, chocolate, and soft drinks .
  • Consume high-fiber foods, such as vegetables and fruit.
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.
  • Check your teeth to the dentist regularly once every 6 months.

If you experience problems with your teeth and mouth, you should consult a dentist to undergo an examination and get the right treatment. Do not delay to go to the dentist, because interference with the teeth and mouth can get worse and difficult to treat if left too long.
