How to burp the baby properly
Babies sometimes experience bloating after suckling. So that he does not fuss, o parents need to know how to burp the right baby to relieve this complaint . If done the wrong way, instead of burping, the baby will feel even more uncomfortable.
When a baby feeds, air can be swallowed and trapped in the digestive tract. This trapped air can cause babies to spit up, bloat, to fuss from colic.
Burping the baby can help expel air and prevent the problem, so the baby can suckle longer and sleep better.
How Often Babies Need to Dis stall and How to Do it ?
Actually there are no rules that require mothers to burp the baby after every breastfeeding. There are babies who need to be buried routinely, but some don't. Mother can try to burp the little one if he seems uncomfortable during or after breastfeeding, or if he suddenly wakes up from sleep and is fussy. This could be caused by colic or bloating.
There are several positions you can try to burp your child, namely:
1. Position held upright
Sit up straight and hold your baby facing the Mother. Position your baby's chin on the shoulder of the Mother, and support her body from the bottom with one hand. Then, use your other Lady's hand to rub or pat your little back slowly and gently.
2. Sitting position
Sit the Little One on the lap of the Mother. Support the body by holding the chin and supporting the chest with the base of the palm of the hand. Try to hold Little One's chin instead of holding his neck. With the other hand of the Mother, pat or gently rub your little back.
3. Prone position
Put your baby to sleep on your arm or on your lap in the prone position. Support and position the head higher than the body, or position the Little One's body with a slope of 45 °, then pat or rub his back slowly.
Try the three ways above and use the position that is most comfortable for Mother and Little One. Make sure your little body is straight (not curled or bent) so that air easily comes out. Don't forget to cup your mother's hand while tapping her back so that your claps aren't too hard.
Things to Look for When Burping a Baby
Burping the little one does not need too long, just do the steps above for 1-2 minutes or until the little burp. That is, if he has not burped for up to 2 minutes buried, Mother does not need to continue. But if your little one still seems uncomfortable or fussy, try burping again with another position.
Also, burping the baby might make him vomit. So, prepare a towel or cloth when burping your little one, Bun.
There are studies that show that the habit of burping a baby cannot prevent colic, but instead increases the risk of babies experiencing spit up. Even so, research is still needed on a larger scale and in more detail to justify this.
If your child is still experiencing colic or fuss after burping, try to lay her down and massage her stomach gently. Apart from that, Mother can also move Little One's legs like pedaling a bicycle.
However, if all the above methods still do not work to make your child calm or even make him more fussy, you should take your child to the pediatrician to be examined and given treatment if necessary.
