1. Heredity factors

Someone whose parents have had oral cancer or tongue cancer will be more at risk of developing tongue cancer. Usually tongue cancer with hereditary risk factors will appear at a young age.

2. Smoking habits

Smoking habits can increase the risk of developing oral cancer, including tongue cancer. Poisons in cigarette smoke can weaken the immune system, making it difficult for the body to fight cancer cells. In addition, substances that are contained in cigarettes can also damage body cells and trigger cancer.

3. K onsumption alcoholic drinks excessive

Besides smoking, the cause of cancer the next tongue is the habit of consuming alcoholic beverages. About 70-80% of tongue cancer sufferers have a history of consuming excessive amounts of alcoholic drinks regularly.

4. Lazy to maintain oral hygiene

5. Less consumption of vegetables and fruits

6. HPV infection

HPV or human pappilomavirus infection can be transmitted directly through skin contact. Transmission of this bacterial infection in the oral cavity can occur through oral sex with people infected with HPV. HPV infection in the mouth is known to trigger changes in cells in the mouth, so it can develop into cancer.
