1. Skip sahur

Eating sahur is usually done around 3-4 in the morning, so you have to get up earlier than usual. Sleepiness and laziness to get up early often make eating sahur overlooked.

If you miss sahur, the fasting time will be longer. This can make enough nutrient and energy reserves until the breaking time. As a result, there is dehydration, weakness, lack of blood sugar, and headaches.

2. Sleep after eating sahur

Immediately returning to sleep after sahur is a very common practice. Be careful, this habit can cause health problems.

Sleeping immediately after eating can cause digestive disorders. One of them is gastric acid (GERD), which is the rise of stomach acid into the esophagus, with symptoms of chest heat and heartburn.

3. Sleep all day

During the fasting month, the sleep cycle generally changes. Most people have the habit of reducing sleep time at night and sleeping more during the day. Some even choose to sleep all day to avoid feeling hungry.

This habit can actually make the body limp. Fasting is not an excuse for lazing. While waiting for the time to break your fast, you can do light exercise, such as walking or yoga. That way, your body will stay fresh.

4. Eating excessive caffeinated drinks

Caffeine is known to have a diuretic effect, which makes the body urinate more often. On the side it becomes easily thirsty, this effect can trigger dehydration. In addition, caffeine can also increase stomach acid production and irritate the stomach wall.

Examples of caffeine-containing drinks are tea, coffee, chocolate, and soft drinks . Avoid consuming these drinks during the fasting month. When fasting, it is advisable to consume as much as 8 glasses of water a day, which is divided at dawn and breaking, to avoid dehydration.
