Causes of Dull Skin

There are several causes of dull skin that you need to know in order to avoid problems that interfere with your appearance. The following are some of the causes:

1. Not drinking enough

Research shows that there is a link between drinking enough water and healthy skin. Drinking lots of water can make your skin moist. On the other hand, not drinking enough makes the skin not hydrated properly, causing the skin to look dull.

2. Lazy to wash your face

The cause of dull skin can also be due to not keeping the skin clean, such as being lazy about washing your face. In fact, the habit of washing your face regularly twice a day can remove dirt and dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.

3. Rarely use moisturizer

Insufficient skin care, such as rarely using moisturizer after washing your face, can make your skin look dull and unkempt. Just like drinking water, using moisturizer after washing your face is very important because it can prevent the skin from becoming dehydrated.

4. Do not use sunscreen

Another cause of dull skin is the habit of not using sunscreen when doing outdoor activities during the day. This happens because exposure to ultraviolet rays directly damages the skin layer and reduces collagen production, thus causing the skin to become damaged and lose its glow.

5. Rarely exfoliate

Rarely exfoliating can also make your skin look dull. In fact, exfoliating your face regularly can help remove dead skin cells and trigger the growth of new skin cells.

6. Sleep deprivation

The cause of dull skin could be due to lack of sleep. This can happen because when you don't get enough sleep, blood flow to the skin decreases, making the skin look dull, pale and lose its color. Apart from that, lack of sleep can also make eye bags black and swollen.

7. Smoking habit

People who have a smoking habit are more prone to having dull skin. This is because smoking can reduce collagen production and skin elasticity, so the skin looks dull. Apart from that, smoking can also speed up the premature aging process of the skin.

It is important to avoid things that trigger dull skin so that your skin remains radiant, healthy and well-maintained. To minimize the risk of dull skin, you are advised to stop smoking and consume enough water, namely 8 glasses or 2 liters per day so that your skin is well hydrated.

Next, do proper skin care by washing your face regularly, using moisturizer, wearing sunscreen, and exfoliating your face regularly. If necessary, use a skin brightening serum to make your skin more radiant and glowing.

If you have carried out this treatment and avoided the causes of dull skin, but your skin condition does not improve, immediately consult a doctor. The doctor will examine the condition of your skin and determine the right skin treatment to restore the lost shine to your face.
